Could you be our Sessional Community Gardener for the Shared Roots Community Garden in the heart of Roehampton?
Do you believe gardens can transform communities?
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic gardener to help deliver a vibrant programme of mindful gardening sessions and practical workshops in our new community garden in Roehampton from November 2026 through to April 2027.
You will inspire local residents to connect with nature, improve wellbeing, learn new skills and help create a thriving community space. Working alongside volunteers and community members and supported by our project co-ordinator, you'll deliver engaging sessions that make gardening accessible, enjoyable and rewarding for everyone.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in community gardening, food growing, horticulture or environmental education. Experience working with young people and people with SEND is welcomed.
What you will do
Deliver weekly mindful gardening volunteer sessions
Plan and lead practical gardening workshops
Share horticultural knowledge in accessible and engaging ways
Support wellbeing, confidence and community connection
Help create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants
